Spa Hot
Tubs Electrical Supply Circuits
It's true what they say "electricity and water
do not mix" and the result can be electrocution or death, but done correctly
everything will be SAFE.
For this reason we recommend that the electrical
work to your spa hot tub and garden services are carried out by a CSCS/ECS registered
electrician and make sure you see his / her registration card don't just take his or her
word for it.
NO CARD - The person may not be
competent to carry out the electrical work to your spa hot tub and may be putting your
life at risk.
For
more information on this visit www.jib.org.uk/ecscscs.htm where
you will also see a sample of the card.
From
2005 it has been a legal requirement that all electrical work in the home be carried out
by a registered organisation which employes competent electrician/s. The organisation must
be registered under Part P of the building regulations.
For
registered Part P electricians visit www.niceic.org.uk
Always
make sure that your spa is feed by the correct sized MCB and an RCD of 30mA max rating.
Your life could depend on it in the event of a fault.
And
don't forget to test the RCD on a regular basis - at least every 6 months. |
